This is a solid starting point for embarking on a self-care journey and one to take a better inventory of where we are at and our goals, as we progress on this journey into better health.
This self-care workbook supports our well-being with reminders that break down the problems in our self-care routine into physical, psychological, social, and well-being checklists to a more resilient and managed self-care habit.
By checking how we organise our life over a weekend provides a good first indication of what we should prioritize.
Why Documenting Our Self-Care is Important?
If we do not practice basic self-care, we may quite simply burn out. We will be unable to decompress or find outlets for our stressors. The worse we take of ourselves, the less we will have to give; from an empty cup, we cannot pour.
Often, self-care advice takes the form of specific relaxation activities. But this misses the point. The true essence of self-care is twofold: it involves self-knowledge and positive self-talk.
Sometimes, we notice little things starting and as our largest organ, our skin tells us what's going on in our health that we notice and get more information (see a doctor) about so we don't forget.
First and foremost, we need to understand our true needs. What does and does not restore us differs substantially from person to person, depending on our tastes and preferences.
Our key task is to stimulate and soothe the natural way people reflect on what they need – their own unique and special sets of self-care activities.
This workbook and guide help you build a simple personal self-care framework around what your life is presenting today, in which the rest of the day's activities fall into place.
This practical workbook is for you to learn about yourself and to build upon your present life in what you can do over a weekend. Build upon the practice you have today in the safety and comfort of your own home.
Resilience has four components: wellness, connection, healthy thinking and meaning. You don't have to get this right. Awareness and application to your self-care routine take time to integrate.
